The path less traveled.
It has been barely 1 month and 6 days since I had my last blog entry. I have been occupied with things like my college graduation, job hunting, soul searching, tapping my innate universe. A lot of questions have been bugging my mind lately like after graduation what should I do? which particular career should i choose, for so many days ang laging nakalagay sa YM stat msg and friendster shoutout ko ay "I might be taking the path less traveled." So what's the story behind this ba? Some of my friends alam kung ano yung ibig kung sabihin. but for everyone's sake, at para matigil na rin ang constant questioning about it, sasabihin ko na.
I always believe na the course i took in college (AB Behavioral Science) will expose me into a lot of perspectives on human behavior. In UST kasi, you're designed and expected to practice Human Resources-related work and duties name it (Recruitment, Placement, Training and Development, Organizational Development, Labor Relations, Employee Relations, Compensation, Salary and Benefits Administration, pati Administrative/Clerical na work isama mo na). I have always been grateful to the multitude of opportunities that has been in store for me. The areas that I mentioned earlier, are the most common path na tinatahak ng graduates ng course ko. Some even say, na we have an edge over dun sa mga mismong kumuha ng BS Psychology, kasi they only have Industrial Psychology, as one area of concetration in UST mas inclined sila in doing clinical work, psychiatry, basta related to medicine. Kami, almost 90 % percent of our major subjects are either business-related (management), or Industrial Psychology related (HR).
The things that I mentioned are the common paths na my coursemates would engage themselves on. But still, there are some other opportunities available. Just recently, I was almost on the verge of taking a job offer way different than HR. Its a school-related work (Primary to that), I was almost a Guidance Counselor for a certain catholic elite school for boys in Alabang. Actually If I indeed accepted the job offer last Friday, dapat New Hire Orientation Seminar ko na ngayong Monday pero yun nga, I changed my mind. Thanks to Mam Emy and Mam Vida (college professors) for their pieces of advice. Seriously, I'm back to zero, I need to apply ulit for a job, but this time HR-related na. I'm sleepy, need to rest to prepare for the week ahead, Guys! I'll just keep you posted.
