Ang Galing!

Yesterday our family went to glorietta to watch this film fest entry entitled zsa zsa zaturnnah (the official movie title was carlo vergara's zsa zsa zaturnah ze moveeh) i was the one who suggested to watch it, my dad on the other hand was eyeing for enteng kabisote, while my mom for mano po. but i think the uberly long lines stopped him for purchasing a ticket, so he was left with no choice but to watch zsa zsa instead, so did my mom. so the question would be, among the other entries in the film fest, why did i opt to have chosen zsa zsa?

My answer to that question would be, its because i think (at least for me! kaya nga "i think!") it possesses social relevance, not only that, actually a few months back when i was still enrolled in my humanities class under sir galan, he was telling us that he was kinda intrigued to watch zsa zsa the musical, since then i always had this preoccupation, whenever i surf the net i had to look for info about it. the musical itself, based from what i've read, did not have bad reviews, which was really good!..because nowadays, only few people appreciate art at it's fullest, and it's really rare that you don't get negative criticisms.

Primarily, the movie produced by regal films for this year's filmfest, was originally a musical play (zsa zsa zaturnnah ze musikal) staged by tanghalang pilipino at the cultural center of the philippines. it stars eula valdez(zsa zsa zaturnnah), agot isidro(queen feminina), tuxs rutaquio(ada), arnold reyes(dodong) among others. by the way, from the known musical zaturnnah was really made for comics (ang kagilagilalas na pakikipagsapalaran ni zsa zsa zaturnnah) made by carlo vergara, published by visual print enterprises. the said comic book was awarded the "best comic book award" for 2002 by the Manila Critics Circle's National Book Award.

Not only this, Zsazsa Zaturnnah was first released in December 2002 as a two-part limited series, and since then has been prominently featured in the Philippine Daily Inquirer, Businessworld, Manila Standard, Art Quarterly Manila, Culture Crash, etc. as well as the television show Knowledge Power. source: visual print enterprises

simbang gabi

my little sis was telling me to go and take a bath already, but i'm so hard-headed, we need to go to mass a little later..kahit na di ko naumpisahan yung simbang gabi..ok lang..at least we're going to church as one family. here are some pictures taken pa last year (sorry medyo luma na!)..during simbang gabi at our parish...

images of christmas (at least for me)

it's that time of the year, where everyone is happy (with the exception of the grinch! of course!)..kids contemplate whether they did good or bad all throughout the year. as i was going around the city certain images of christmas caught my eye, although i'm kinda biased..kasi ust, house, and market! market! and megamall lang ang locations....and here is my list (randomly listed)

3. the gifts i bought for my loved ones

4. Our Belen at home..
5. Paskuhan 2006

6. Street children ng sampaloc...(Six million children under five die every year as a result of hunger ----courtesy of care.org)
